Position: Post-Transplant Coordinator | Renal
About: Houston Methodist Hospital, located in the Texas Medical Center, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Post-Transplant Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the peri-operative and post-transplant phases of transplantation. This role involves interacting with various members of the inter-professional transplant team to ensure seamless care for post-transplant patients and achieve optimal treatment outcomes. The Post-Transplant Coordinator will demonstrate clinical knowledge, competence in care provision, and the ability to manage emergencies effectively, while advocating for patients and their families.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing; Four years of nursing experience; Previous transplant acute care and/or ICU experience preferred; RN – Registered Nurse – Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days OR RN-Temp – Registered Nurse – Temporary State Licensure within 60 days AND BLS – Basic Life Support (AHA); Demonstrated proficiency in communication, problem-solving, patient care management, and familiarity with OPTN/UNOS policies and listing requirements; Participation in continuous learning and performance improvement projects
