Position: Porter (UWS Sanctuary)
About: The Goddard Riverside Community Center and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies supporting services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. They work towards creating a fair and just society where all individuals have the opportunity to improve their lives and those of their families. The Porters play a key role in providing building maintenance and safety to the office, staff, and residents, ensuring cleanliness and conducting routine cleaning tasks.
Requirements: At least 1 year of experience in custodial or cleaning work required; commercial property cleaning experience is a plus; must undergo a funder required background check; high school diploma or GED required; ability to read and write in English, bilingual in Spanish is a plus; work effectively in a team with a cooperative attitude; provide friendly and respectful service to facility residents; ability to track inventory and place orders; basic computer skills including email and Excel spreadsheets; physical ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and walk for extended periods; work environment includes a residential building with 110 units and 7 floors.
