Position: Pastry Cook
About: Yale Hospitality – Auxiliary – Culinary Support Center is seeking a Pastry Cook to join their team. The position focuses on producing a variety of bakery items with a high level of skill and quality in accordance with Yale Hospitality’s standards and procedures.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 5 years’ experience as a commercial pastry cook with production and supervisory experience; Two or more years of food service experience at an institutional food service location or full-service restaurant environment. Effectively provided coaching and mentorship to team members; Identifying areas for improvement and offering constructive feedback; Knowledge of ingredient properties, mixing methods, and baking times and temperatures; Experience in fast-paced environments with multiple tasks and deadlines; Proven experience to conceptualize and execute new pastry creations, often incorporating unique flavors, ingredients, and presentation techniques; In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles and nutritional principles.
