Position: Junior Sous chef
About: The company is a large cruise ship based in Miami, FL, United States, offering exquisite culinary experiences to its guests. They are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Junior Chef to join their galley team and ensure the highest standards of food quality and service are maintained throughout the operations.
Requirements: An associate or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or hotel administration; certificate program in culinary arts and appropriate work experience; 3 to 5 years progressive supervisory and managerial experience of professional kitchens; minimum of 2 years as a Junior Sous Chef of 3 to 5-star hotel or large cruise ship; chef de parties experience in a reputed restaurant; ability to maintain oversight over assigned galley; strong foundation in culinary skills and food presentation principles; comprehensive understanding of food safety and USPH principles; knowledge of cost management and resource conservation; familiarity with kitchen equipment operations and hygiene standards; ability to create effective work schedules; skilled in fostering a harmonious work environment; understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and hospitality software suites like Micros, Fidelio or Crunchtimeime.
