Position: Food Service Manager
About: Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a Food Service Manager to oversee kitchen operations at the Harris County jail in downtown Houston, Texas. The role involves managing food preparation, production, and serving; supervising sanitation; providing direction to staff including corrections food service managers, supervisors, food service workers, and inmate workers. Responsibilities also include implementing training programs for food service staff, evaluating on-the-job training for inmate workers, maintaining safe working conditions, ensuring compliance with food sanitation and safety standards, and enforcing security regulations.
Requirements: Must be able to pass a felony background check, drug screen, and TB test; must work one weekend day and some holidays; oversee and train inmate workers, food service workers, and other staff; possess a minimum of 2 years of food service management experience, preferably in an institutional or correctional food service environment; experience in managing a dispersed workforce; demonstrate management and leadership skills, ability to work with confidential information, and respond effectively to changing client demands.
