Position: Food Service Coordinator
About: The Bertha’s Place & Bertha’s Too cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for homeless guests 7 days a week in a dynamic kitchen environment focused on cleanliness and efficiency. The cook plans daily meals to minimize waste and spoilage, oversees volunteer groups in using kitchen equipment, and ensures a clean kitchen after food preparation.
Requirements: HS Diploma or GED; 1 year of experience as a cook; Current Clark County Food Handlers Card; Ability to respond quickly to program changes; Ability to lift 40 lbs; Full manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and alertness for mechanical equipment operation; Successful background check; Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance; Acceptable driving record per CCS driving policy; Support of mission, beliefs, and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services; Contribution to a creative, collaborative, and respectful team environment; Culturally competent service delivery and effective work in multi-cultural settings
