Position: Food Pantry Assistant
About: Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC) is a multi-service not-for-profit organization based in the Bronx, providing resources for Bronx residents from cradle to career to advance education and well-being. KHCC serves over 5,000 families annually with an inclusive environment for children with special needs, low-income families, recent immigrants, survivors of sexual and domestic abuse, and at-risk teens. They help participants overcome adversity and develop the skills they need to build bright futures. KHCC is seeking a food intern/volunteer for their biweekly food pantry distribution to best serve vulnerable populations with access to food, resources, information, support, and new opportunities for their participants.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in food pantry operations preferred; ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of volunteers and staff; strong organizational and time management skills; understanding of food safety guidelines; physical ability to perform duties such as standing, walking, handling, lifting, and moving items up to 50 pounds
