Position: Executive Sous Chef
About: American Cruise Lines, the largest cruise line in the United States, is looking to add Executive Sous Chefs to our shipboard teams for an exciting new position. Our shipboard team supports a combined fleet of ships sailing through various itineraries across the nation from contemporary riverboats to paddlewheel queens for a steamboat experience. Exceptional cuisine is prepared by chefs with extensive culinary credentials and training. Using only the freshest ingredients, menus are inspired by regional and local specialties. As an Executive Sous Chef, you will be an integral part of the culinary team, responsible for producing diverse and delicious dishes for guests and high-quality crew meals. Collaboration with other team members is essential to ensure smooth kitchen operations and flawless service to guests and crew.
Requirements: Minimum 3 years of culinary experience in full-service resort, hotel, or cruise ship; ServSafe Manager Certification strongly preferred; Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC); familiarity with food safety standards; ability to multitask, take direction, and work well in a team; capacity to work under pressure with problem-solving skills and self-motivation; proficiency in reading and understanding cooking recipes; effective time management and leadership skills; excellent oral communication and interpersonal abilities; willingness to undergo pre-employment drug test and complete criminal background check; training and teaching experience; ability to work on a rotation of 6 to 8 weeks onboard followed by 1 to 2 weeks off
