Position: Executive Sous Chef

About: American Cruise Lines, the largest cruise line in the United States, is looking to add Executive Sous Chefs to our shipboard teams for an exciting new position as we continue our commitment to growth from within and career advancement opportunities into the Executive Chef role. Our shipboard team supports a combined fleet of ships sailing through various itineraries across the nation, from contemporary riverboats to paddlewheel queens for a steamboat experience. Exceptional cuisine is prepared by chefs with extensive culinary credentials and training from prestigious culinary institutes, using only the freshest ingredients. Working in the kitchen, you will be an integral part of the culinary team, responsible for creating a unique array of delicious dishes for guests and crew. You will ensure high crew satisfaction by providing well-balanced, healthy, nutritious, and delicious meals with varied options to accommodate different appetites.

Requirements: Minimum 3 years of culinary experience in a full-service resort, hotel, or cruise ship; ServSafe Manager Certification strongly preferred; Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC); Familiarity with food safety standards; Multi-tasking abilities, direction-taking, and teamwork skills; Ability to work under pressure and solve problems; Effective time management and leadership; Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check; Training and teaching experience; Work rotation of 6 to 8 weeks onboard followed by 1 to 2 weeks off
