Position: Executive Chef, Healthcare Culinary Services

The position available is for an Executive Chef in Healthcare Culinary Services at Yale New Haven Hospital, located in New Haven, CT. Yale New Haven Hospital is a prominent 1,541-bed hospital affiliated with the Yale Schools of medicine and nursing, encompassing various specialized units like the Smilow Cancer Hospital, Children’s Hospital, and Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital. Sodexo operates a room service program transitioning to bedside dining and multiple retail dining locations, including a main cafeteria, micro-market, Starbucks, sushi outlet, and a staff-focused cafe with a Peet’s coffee shop.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; minimum 5 years of management experience; minimum 3 years of functional experience in healthcare culinary operations; strong knowledge of union environments, with 1199 experience preferred; experience in managing multi-level teams, including managers and frontline staff; expertise in food safety, quality control, and compliance; proven ability in budget management, inventory control, and procurement; passion for team development, coaching, and morale-building; commitment to long-term program growth and evolution (5+ years)
