About: At UCLA Housing & Hospitality, team members provide quality housing, dining, and hospitality services to student-residents, faculty, staff, and campus visitors in a supportive work environment. The Executive Pastry Chef role involves leading UCLA Dining Services bakery preparation, scheduling food production, supervising staff, ensuring quality bakery products, and maintaining good customer relations while following established timelines.
Requirements: 6-8 years experience in a culinary leadership position with increasing responsibility; 3 years experience leading a culinary operation with at least 3 revenue centers (Preferred); Ability to read, understand, speak and write English sufficiently; Skill in working in organizing and monitoring assignments; Skill in management and supervision of multi-functional staff; Demonstrated ability to train and lead a culinary production team for a high volume bakery; Detailed culinary knowledge of bakery inventory, recipes, and production methods; Working knowledge of food safety rules and procedures; Ability to work on a personal computer and utilize various software; Demonstrated ability in developing menus and recipes for bakery items; Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts effectively; Must have and maintain a valid California Driver’s License; Ability to conduct on-site inspections and interact effectively with guests and team members in a high volume setting
