Position: ESS/Alaska Railroad – Lead Cook, Summer Train
About: Alaska Railroad operates a scenic railway in Alaska and is currently seeking applications for the 2025 Summer Season. The Lead Cook position is based in Anchorage and involves working onboard the railroad under the direction of the Onboard Captain and the Alaska Railroad Project Operations Manager. Training for this role will commence in April 2025, with the first train run scheduled for early May 2025.
Requirements: Professional cooking experience required; ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; AK State Food Workers Card, CPR & First Aid Certifications; one-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training; ability to work a minimum of 14 hours on a moving railcar, multiple days in a row; ability to work a schedule that can shift and change daily
