Position: Director of Operations | Tsongas Center (UMass – Lowell)
About: In consultation with the General Manager, the Director of Operations manages, supervises, and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the complex including maintenance, set-up/changeovers, custodial/housekeeping, landscaping/grounds keeping, equipment safety and capital projects. This role provides administrative planning, direction, and policies to operating managers and supervisors to ensure the highest quality service program. The Director of Operations oversees budget control and provides staff assistance to the General Manager.
Requirements: B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited college/university; 5-7 years experience in facility operations management preferred; demonstrated knowledge of physical plant management and supervisory skills; ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays; knowledge of budget preparation, OSHA requirements, boilers, chillers, refrigeration, and ice making; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; strong oral and written communication skills; valid driver’s license required; ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment; excellent customer service skills
