Position: DIRECTOR, FINANCIAL OPERATIONS
About: Leads the Strategic Sourcing and Accounts Payable teams at Denver Public Schools to fulfill key District objectives, ensuring efficient sourcing of goods and services, proper communication of procedures, and strategic leadership in procurement for an organization with an annual budget exceeding $1 billion. The Director must maintain confidentiality regarding all District matters, especially those involving key stakeholders like the Superintendent, Chief of Staff, and the Board of Education.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Policy, Accounting or Finance; five (5) or more years of supervisory experience; experience in public procurement, vendor management, contract administration, oversight of procurement processes (RFQ/RFP), invoice management, and Accounts Payable; strong knowledge of governmental accounting and GAAP; experience in K-12 organizations preferred; outstanding communication and leadership skills; ability to meet strict deadlines and deliver accurate work; advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications; commitment to racial and educational excellence and dismantling systems of oppression and inequity; permanent home address in Colorado required.
