Position: Director, AWS Events

Millions of customers—including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies—are using AWS to lower costs, become more agile, and innovate faster. The Director, AWS Events will lead highly visible, large-scale events. Our events educate customers and prospects at scale, engage with AWS partners, promote new products and services, drive revenue pipelines, build and foster our AWS community, and have press and analyst reach. The Director of AWS Events will conceptualize, plan, lead, and execute events for global audiences.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; 15+ years building and developing teams responsible for complex, high-profile events; demonstrated track record of inventing new event concepts and taking them from inception to implementation; experience managing organization sizes of 30+ individuals; proven ability to define and track key metrics for event experience across registration, attendance, and event quality; strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated experience maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail in professional environments; experience with business intelligence or reporting tools; creative and analytical mind that thrives in a data-driven environment; strategic thinker who can take broad visions and concepts and develop structured plans, actions, and measurable metrics and then execute on those plans; drive for results, with the ability to manage independently and take calculated risks; decisive, action-oriented, and able to motivate, inspire, and lead cross-functional teams in different geographies and business units; self-starter with a sense of urgency and a desire to be part of building something new; ability to succeed in an innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization
