Position: Cottage Cook
About: St. John’s United is dedicated to providing a warm, home-like environment for elders, delivering exceptional care tailored to residents’ diverse needs. As a Cottage Cook, you will prepare meals for 12 to 26 elders, ensuring delicious, nutritious food aligned with dietary requirements.
Requirements: Certification of St. John’s feeding program and transfer training within first three months of employment; High School diploma or GED preferred; Prior experience cooking in a kitchen/restaurant/food service setting preferred; Comfort and experience around older adults in a healthcare environment preferred; Basic cooking skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques preferred; Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality; Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines; Excellent hygiene and sanitation practices; Serv Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment); Good communication and teamwork skills
