Position: Cottage Cook
About: St. John’s Untied is dedicated to providing a warm, home-like environment for elders, delivering exceptional care tailored to residents’ diverse needs. The Cottage Cook position involves preparing meals for 12 to 26 residents, ensuring high standards of sanitation and safety, and collaborating with the team to meet dietary requirements. Training is provided for candidates willing to learn.
Requirements: Certification of St. John’s feeding program and transfer training within three months of employment; high school diploma or GED preferred; prior cooking experience in a kitchen/restaurant/food service setting preferred; comfort and experience with older adults in a healthcare environment; basic cooking skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques; attention to detail and commitment to quality; ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines; excellent hygiene and sanitation practices; Serv Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment); good communication and teamwork skills.
