Position: CORRECTIONAL MEDICAL TECHNICIAN II- CERMAK
About: The Correctional Medical Technician II works under close supervision performing designated clinical and healthcare provider tasks throughout the Cook County Department of Corrections and responds to emergencies as prescribed. The role involves communicating patient care issues to the clinical staff, delivering medications to detainees, observing detainees for health problems, and performing various medical procedures.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent (must provide proof at the time of interview); valid driver’s license (must provide proof at the time of interview); current certification in the State of Illinois as an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B) (must provide proof at the time of interview); one year of experience as an EMT-B required; current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (must provide proof at the time of interview); all applicants must have reached their 18th birthday as of the date of application.
