Position: Cook/Kitchen Staff

About: Open Hand Kitchen is seeking dedicated Cooks to join their team. Cooks are responsible for organizing food items, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area, adhering to sanitation standards, and working collaboratively with kitchen guests, clients, and staff. Specific duties include cleaning and organizing dishes and storage areas, utilizing rescued foods, and promptly addressing any concerns. Ideal candidates should have experience in a commercial kitchen, knowledge of safety guidelines, and the ability to comply with health department sanitation guidelines. Demonstrated leadership qualities, project management skills, and the ability to problem-solve are important. Additionally, candidates must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to the mission of St Vincent de Paul.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 1-year experience in a related position/setting; Health Dept Certification within 6 months of employment; Hepatitis A vaccination required; annual TB testing necessary; culinary education/training is a plus; ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening
