Position: Cook II

About: The Cook II position at Seattle Children’s involves preparing food products using basic and advanced cooking techniques, following standard recipes and plating guidelines. The role requires meeting production schedules while adhering to health, safety, and sanitary procedures. Additionally, the Cook II is responsible for ensuring proper utilization of food and supplies in the kitchen to cater to the needs of patients, families, and staff. Maintenance of equipment, supplies, and work areas’ cleanliness is essential, along with participation in improvement work, recipe/menu development, and showcasing culinary skills.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent experience required; Four (4) years of professional food production experience; Must hold a Washington State Food and Beverage Service Worker’s Permit within 15 days of employment; Culinary Degree or Formalized Apprenticeship preferred; Experience in food production within a catering, hotel, or hospital setting is a plus.
