Position: Executive Chef
About: After five years of incredible leadership, our current Executive Chef is signaling that this will be his last season. To ensure a smooth transition, we are seeking an experienced chef to work alongside him before stepping into the role for the seasonal closure in Mid-August. This will prepare the incoming chef for the next seasonal reopening in mid-October. Ideally, we would find a chef and partner duo with complementary skills (bread and desserts expertise is a plus), as working together in a remote location can be both enriching and practical.
Requirements:
Oversee and curate daily changing fine dining dinner menus for Lusca
Manage kitchen operations for all three dining venues
Train and develop a small team of local cooks
Plan menus around imported and locally sourced ingredients
Maintain strict food cost control and inventory management
Adapt to logistical challenges, including weather-related supply delays
Uphold the high culinary standards that have earned us glowing TripAdvisor reviews
What We’re Looking For:
A seasoned Executive Chef with experience in high-end boutique hotels, resorts, or fine dining. Strong leadership and mentoring skills to work with a small, mostly unskilled local team. A creative and adaptable approach to working in a remote location. Experience with menu development, ordering logistics, and cost control. Ideally, a chef couple or duo (though not required)
Benefits: Tax-free salary, private housing, paid time off, and flight reimbursement
