Position: Banquet Sous Chef
About: The Populus, a sophisticated and unique hotel brand under Aparium, is seeking a Banquet Sous Chef to join their team. The hotel brand is known for its focus on People, Place, and Character, creating a vibrant and inclusive environment for both guests and associates. The Banquet Sous Chef will play a key role in leading banquet and catering events while maintaining the high culinary standards set by the hotel.
Requirements: Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language; Culinary Degree respected but not required; 3-5 years of previous experience in culinary or food and beverage department head positions, with expertise in event and banquet food production; Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Ability to appropriately cost out recipes; Ability to effectively use prep lists for event organization; Excellent knowledge of food production and execution for events; Ability to work alone without direct supervision; Ability to work varying schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays; Ability to physically stand, walk, lift, carry, and negotiate varied floor surfaces as required
