Position: Associate Director of Development
About: Housing Works was founded in 1990 with a long-term commitment to AIDS advocacy and providing essential services like harm reduction-based drug treatment programs, behavioral health services, and syringe exchange programs. They also operate high-end thrift shops and a Bookstore Cafe in Manhattan and Brooklyn, advocating for funding and legislation to support people living with HIV/AIDS.
Requirements: BA/BS required; A minimum of 4 years of event/management experience is preferred; Superior communications skill, including leading presentations to diverse audiences; Demonstrated skill and experience in strategic planning, setting goals, and managing performance; must possess and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and relevant professional issues and literature; Strong, detail-oriented, organizational and follow-through skills, as well as exceptional written and oral communication skills, including public speaking; Demonstrated ability to think critically and exercise good judgment, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal day-to-day supervision in a fast-paced environment; Exceptional computer software skills, including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Ability to travel to appointments, meetings, conferences, etc. for job-related business; Experience with and proven commitment to working with low-income and marginalized communities, as well as individuals with multiple chronic medical and/or behavioral health conditions
