Position: Assistant Technical Director
About: The AMFA (Art Museum and Performing Arts Center) is a prominent cultural institution located in a vibrant community, offering a range of programs and events for the public. The Assistant Technical Director (ATD) position at AMFA plays a crucial role in supporting the technical and production needs of its Children’s Theater, Performing Arts Center, and Museum programs, ensuring seamless execution of performances and events. The facility includes state-of-the-art galleries, a theater, art school, restaurant, and event spaces, fostering creativity, discovery, and engagement with the arts. The ATD collaborates with a dedicated team to bring creative visions to life in a dynamic, youth-centered arts environment.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theater, Theater Production, Audio Production, or related field (or equivalent work experience); 2+ years of technical theater or performing arts center experience; Strong skills in Qlab, ETC lighting systems, and Yamaha sound consoles; Skills in scenic construction, rigging, lighting design, sound design, and projection; Ability to problem-solve quickly in fast-paced production environments; Experience working with children, students, or community theater groups is a plus; Knowledge of basic safety protocols and equipment maintenance; Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook
