Position: Assistant Manager – School Nutrition Services
About: Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking an Assistant Manager for School Nutrition Services for the upcoming school year. The role involves overseeing food preparation, service, storage, and clean-up operations, assisting in supervisory responsibilities, and filling in for the manager when needed.
Requirements: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED preferred; Three (3) years of food service K-12 Experience with at least (2) years in food service management preferred; Must successfully complete SBISD Manager-In-Training Program within the first 185 days of employment; Must be able to pass and maintain an accredited Certified Food Manager program; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Food, Restaurant Management, or a related field, Recent experience in a high volume feeding site with at least two (2) years in management; Must successfully complete SBISD Manager-In-Training Program within the first 185 days of employment; Must be able to pass and maintain an accredited Certified Food Manager program, Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to read and speak the English language; Ability to understand and comply with all safety procedures; Have a working knowledge of kitchen equipment; Willing to train to meet department needs; Congenial personality; Ability to multitask and manage kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment; Ability to order food and supplies necessary for services.
