Position: Assistant Chef
About: The Door, located in New York City, is a center that provides a wide range of services to empower young people to reach their full potential. They offer comprehensive youth development services, including health care, education, mental health counseling, legal assistance, career development, and more, all under one roof.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 5 years of cooking experience as chef, sous chef, or line cook; experience in youth development work and interest in working with adolescents required; excellent communication and customer service skills required; valid New York City DOH Food Handlers Certificate/license/card; ServeSafe certification; proficiency in safe operation of all kitchen equipment and Department of Health regulations; administrative experience required; basic computer skills required, including Microsoft Office; teamwork and collaboration skills required; ability to lift 30 lbs.
