Founded in 2015, OVG operates a diverse platform that includes venue development, venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. The company manages seven world-class venues and maintains a prestigious client roster spanning some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. OVG is known for delivering exceptional live entertainment experiences by seamlessly integrating facility operations with hospitality and event management. Located at the Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, the company offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food and beverage management in a dynamic live entertainment environment.
The role of Cook at Oak View Group is a part-time position designed for culinary professionals who thrive in fast-paced, high-demand settings. Responsible for preparing menu items using various cooking equipment, this role plays a critical part in ensuring guests receive high-quality, fresh food that meets exacting standards. The Cook is tasked with maintaining portion control, managing food waste, and adhering to rigorous sanitation protocols. This role demands precision, efficiency, and attention to detail to maintain the reputation of Oak View Group's hospitality services.
As a Cook, you will be responsible for cooking and packaging food products either prepared to order or kept warm until sold. You will collaborate closely with the front counter staff by receiving verbal orders and ensuring customer requests are fulfilled accurately and promptly. Maintaining quality and consistency of all menu items is paramount, guaranteeing that every dish served meets the company’s standards for freshness and food safety. You'll oversee portion control and serving temperatures to enhance guest satisfaction and reduce waste. Additionally, you will operate large-volume cooking equipment including grills, fryers, and ovens, which requires familiarity with commercial kitchen tools and safety guidelines.
Your daily responsibilities will also include cleaning, stocking, and restocking workstations, displays, and equipment. Maintaining cleanliness and proper food storage is essential, including ensuring utensils are clean and properly stored, and that floors are swept and mopped at the shift’s end. The kitchen must meet stringent cleanliness standards checked by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef before you finish your shift. Adherence to sanitation, health, and safety standards is a key aspect of this role. Excellent attendance is expected as this impacts the smooth operation of the food service team, especially during live events and busy periods.
Oak View Group values inclusivity and diversity, recognizing these as vital to innovation, service excellence, and a positive work environment. The company embraces a culture that respects and celebrates diverse backgrounds, making it an excellent place for individuals seeking to contribute their unique talents in a supportive setting. This part-time Cook position offers a competitive hourly wage between $13.00 and $15.00, along with benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan and employer matching contributions. This is an outstanding chance for those looking to gain valuable experiences in the food and beverage sector within the live entertainment industry at a globally recognized company. The job remains open until September 4, 2026, providing ample time for interested candidates to apply and join a team dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.
