The organization is committed to feeding hungry minds, supporting student success, and creating vibrant food-forward communities.

At Baylor University in Waco, Texas, we are currently seeking a highly skilled Executive Chef to join our food and beverage leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead culinary operations on a prestigious, large Division-One university campus where excellence in high-volume foodservice is a standard. This role offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $70,000 and includes relocation assistance to facilitate your move to Waco.

The Executive Chef at Baylor University will be instrumental in planning and executing menus that reflect current culinary trends and meet established guidelines. This position involves managing kitchen teams, training staff in proper food preparation techniques, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, overseeing inventory management, and maintaining equipment cleanliness and functionality. Given the size and complexity of dining operations at Baylor, the role demands a leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments and has a passion for delivering exceptional food quality and presentation.

Joining Chartwells Higher Education means being part of a dynamic company that values diversity, professional growth, and innovation. Our commitment to employee development means that as an Executive Chef, you will have opportunities to engage with students through creative menu design and culinary pop-ups, while also benefiting from a strong career network within Compass Group USA. This global enterprise offers pathways for advancement and internal transfers, making your career with us both rewarding and sustainable.

Moreover, living and working in Waco presents a unique combination of stable career opportunities, an affordable lifestyle, and a vibrant cultural scene. The community offers a welcoming atmosphere with many resources for professional and personal development. As part of Chartwells, you will enjoy meaningful work that directly impacts student life and promotes health and wellness within the campus community.

We encourage candidates who are humble, hungry, and smart, and who are eager to contribute to a forward-thinking food service organization to apply. The successful Executive Chef will have prior experience managing high-volume food service operations, a strong culinary background with a focus on quality and innovation, and a dedication to maintaining rigorous safety standards.
