Torchy's is hiring for the position of Cashier/Runner, a vital role within the Hospitality Team that serves as the heart and soul of the guest experience. The Cashier/Runner acts as the first point of contact, greeting guests with a friendly smile, ensuring accurate and efficient transactions, and assisting in delivering food to the dining room promptly. This position offers flexible scheduling options aimed at accommodating individual team members' needs, with wages starting between $10 to $13 per hour, based on experience, plus pooled tips that enhance total take-home pay. There’s also a great food discount available for employees and their spouses, making it rewarding beyond just the paycheck. Job Requirements
- Availability to work a flexible schedule
- Meet state and local requirements for Food Handler and Alcohol Server certifications
- Obtain necessary certification(s) by first day or within required timeline
- Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 40 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for items on shelves of various heights
Job Qualifications
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Customer service experience preferred in restaurant, hospitality, or retail sectors
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems preferred
- Ability to learn and confidently discuss menu items and promotions
- Friendly and outgoing personality with active listening skills
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Greet guests and process orders accurately at the point of sale
- Offer menu suggestions and answer guest questions to enhance their dining experience
- Deliver food promptly to guest tables and ensure accuracy of orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of guest-facing areas including dining room and service counters
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to resolve service issues quickly
- Proactively offer refills and attend to guest needs during their visit
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support restaurant operations
