Operated by Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company as an independent franchisee, The Ben prides itself on delivering hospitality that transcends transactional interactions. Instead, it focuses on intuitive, thoughtful, and seamless service that makes guests feel both comfortable and valued. This is a full-time management position with a starting salary of $60,000 per year.
The role of the Maitre D' at The Ben is pivotal to the guest experience, acting as the heartbeat of the dining room environment. This position demands a professional who not only understands restaurant flow and operations but also thrives on direct guest interaction and team leadership. The Maitre D' is responsible for orchestrating the guest arrival experience, managing reservations and seating arrangements, pacing the meal flow, and ensuring a luxurious dining ambiance that aligns with The Ben’s high standards. As a visible leader in the front-of-house, this individual collaborates closely with Food & Beverage leadership, culinary teams, and service staff to ensure every guest journey is flawless and memorable.
The Maitre D' oversees the Host and Hostess team, recruiting, training, scheduling, and developing this group to maintain exceptional standards of hospitality and service. They ensure that every guest receives a warm welcome and personalized attention, anticipate needs, and manage VIP recognition, special occasions, and guest preferences with care and sophistication. Additionally, the role entails real-time operational decision-making to balance guest satisfaction with business needs, monitoring and adjusting seating strategies and waitlists as required. This position also involves supporting compliance with health, safety, and brand standards, reviewing guest feedback for continuous service improvements, and fostering a team culture that embodies The Ben’s values and service philosophy.
The ideal Maitre D' has between two to five years of experience in upscale or luxury dining environments, with a track record of leadership or supervisory experience. They possess strong knowledge of restaurant operations and reservation systems, excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills, and the ability to maintain composure in high-volume settings. Their availability includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of hospitality. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry items weighing 20 to 40 pounds, continuous standing, and mobility across all dining areas. The work environment is predominantly indoors, with occasional exposure to high temperatures in outdoor dining or kitchen areas.
Working at The Ben offers enriching experiences within a luxury hotel setting that values individuality, style, and excellence. This role provides an opportunity to lead a dedicated team in a beautiful space that emphasizes presence and attention to detail, creating moments that are elevated and effortless. The position comes with a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance options, paid time off, 401(k) with employer matching, tuition reimbursement, and other valuable perks. Joining The Ben means becoming part of a global team committed to purposeful work and exceptional hospitality.
