Job Description
Red Lobster is a renowned family-owned restaurant brand that has been delighting seafood lovers for over fifty years. Established with the vision to connect people to the coast and offer a special dining experience centered around seafood, the company has grown into more than 500 restaurant locations. Red Lobster prides itself on being more than just a place to eat and work; it is a community hub where new friends become familiar faces. The brand's commitment to quality meals, exceptional service, and community involvement has made it a beloved destination for guests across the nation.
At Red Lobster, the team culture and employee development are highly valued. The company offers weekly pay and competitive wages to its staff, with flexible scheduling options to help maintain a healthy work-life balance. Employees have access to options for medical, dental, and vision insurance starting at an affordable rate of less than $10 per week. Additional benefits include life insurance, short-term disability coverages, and a variety of voluntary benefits tailored to individual needs. After completing one year of service, team members become eligible for a company-matched 401(k) retirement savings plan, fostering long-term financial planning. Anniversary pay is another incentive provided to eligible employees as a token of appreciation for their dedication. Moreover, staff members enjoy discounted shift meals and a 25% discount when dining as guests, contributing to a rewarding work environment. Red Lobster also emphasizes growth opportunities by training its employees and providing clear career advancement pathways within the company.
The Busser/Runner role is vital in maintaining the smooth operation of restaurant service and enhancing guest satisfaction. As a Busser/Runner, you will be the welcoming face that greets guests with a warm smile as they enter the restaurant. Your responsibilities will include setting up your station at the beginning of each shift, ensuring that silverware, condiments, and other essentials are properly placed on tables. You will refill drinks and assist in pre-bussing tables, helping to prepare them for new guests efficiently. Running hot food from the kitchen alley to the guests promptly is crucial to maintaining service speed and quality. Supporting servers with guest needs and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness are core aspects of your role.
Additional duties include clearing dishes after guests have finished dining, resetting the table to prepare for incoming patrons, and cleaning seats and floors to uphold the restaurant's welcoming atmosphere. Effective communication regarding table readiness and managing the breakdown of items in the dish area ensures operational efficiency. Given the physical nature of the job, the role requires the ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 30 pounds, and stand for extended shifts lasting between 8 to 12 hours. Teamwork, attention to detail, and multi-tasking abilities are essential qualities for success in this position.
Red Lobster is dedicated to providing a supportive work environment that offers reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. As an equal opportunity employer, Red Lobster embraces diversity and inclusivity by providing equal employment opportunities regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status. With a bright future ahead and big plans for growth, joining the Red Lobster family today means being part of an exciting journey where you can contribute to building memorable dining experiences while growing your career in the hospitality industry.
