Job Description
Torchy's Tacos is a notable restaurant brand that began its journey in Austin, Texas, in 2006. Founded with a unique idea, a passionate executive chef, and humble beginnings operating from a food trailer, Torchy's has grown into a nationwide chain recognized for its distinctive take on tacos and bold flavors. The company has cultivated a strong culture focused on providing excellent food and exceptional customer experiences, which has driven its expansion beyond its Texas roots to multiple locations across the United States. Torchy's is acclaimed not only for its menu but also for its commitment to creating a lively, welcoming atmosphere that resonates with its guests and team members alike.
The present opportunity is for a Utility Team Member, who will act as an essential part of the Torchy's team by ensuring the restaurant environment maintains its high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest-friendliness. This role encompasses responsibilities of both a Busser and Dishwasher, contributing to a smooth and efficient restaurant operation. Utility team members work behind the scenes to guarantee that the kitchen and dining areas are consistently in impeccable condition, allowing the front of house and kitchen staff to perform optimally. This position is hourly paid with a rate between $10 and $11 based on experience, complemented by a tip-sharing system that rewards team members for their dedication and hard work.
As a Utility Team Member at Torchy's, you will be entrusted with various cleaning, maintenance, and support tasks designed to foster a pleasant dining experience for guests. These responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness in dining rooms, bathrooms, kitchen areas, and outdoor spaces, as well as ensuring equipment and supplies are adequately stocked and organized. The role requires physical stamina, as it involves standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and engaging in various movements such as bending and reaching. The team member must also adhere to food safety and cleanliness standards, including possessing a valid Food Handlers Certification.
Torchy's dedication to its team members is evident in its benefits package, which includes competitive hourly wages, a tip pooling system, flexible scheduling options, and attractive food discounts for both employees and their spouses. Full-time employees gain access to medical, dental, and vision insurance after one year of service, alongside eligibility for 401(k) plans after six months, and paid time off after one year. Additionally, Torchy's Family Foundation offers support to team members during times of need or crisis, emphasizing the company's commitment to community and employee welfare.
Working as a Utility Team Member at Torchy's means becoming part of a vibrant team dedicated to upholding the brand's values of quality, cleanliness, and hospitality. If you take pride in maintaining hygiene standards and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic restaurant environment, this role offers an excellent opportunity to grow your skills and be rewarded for your efforts.
