With a workforce of over 32,000 employees across 400 locations and maintaining a fleet of more than 17,000 vehicles, Transdev is committed to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative transportation solutions. Being part of a larger international network with operations in 19 countries and employing around 110,000 team members worldwide, Transdev prides itself on its purpose-driven approach to mobility that serves the common good. Their core mission is to empower individuals with the freedom to move every day by providing efficient and customer-focused transit services. The company values safety, professionalism, and inclusivity, making it a prominent and respected operator in the public transportation sector.

Currently, Transdev is seeking an experienced Bus Driver to join its elite Para Transit team located in San Diego, CA. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $23.00, subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The role is central to ensuring safe, reliable, efficient, and comfortable transportation for passengers who rely on Para Transit services. As a Transdev Bus Driver, you are entrusted with upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service, which includes safely operating buses along designated routes and schedules, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and traffic laws. The driver will also be responsible for passenger care, which involves assisting with boarding and disembarking, especially for passengers using mobility devices, and ensuring securements are properly used. Strict adherence to company policies, including seat belt enforcement and emergency preparedness, is mandatory. Effective communication with dispatch regarding any incidents, accidents, deviations, or passenger overloads is also part of the daily duties.

The ideal candidate for this position will be at least 21 years old, possess a minimum of three years of driving experience (professional or personal), and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills alongside strong customer service orientation. Candidates must have the availability to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, split shifts, on-call duties, and holidays as required. Additionally, the candidate must be able to successfully obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and any relevant certifications needed for the role.

Physically, the position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, sit for extended periods of up to 6-8 hours per day, walk considerable distances, and handle physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment may include exposure to heavy traffic, vehicle fumes, noise, dust, and other outdoor elements. Transdev provides reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Transdev is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace and requires applicants to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. They also ensure a fair and impartial hiring process without discrimination based on race, sex, color, national origin, age, or other legally protected statuses. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a respected company that values safety, inclusivity, and innovation in the field of public transportation.
