Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School, a renowned private school founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, is seeking married couples to serve as Youth Development Specialists, also known as flex houseparents. This unique role involves providing a nurturing environment and guidance to a small group of students from disadvantaged backgrounds who reside on campus, encompassing various responsibilities such as transportation and medication administration. The school covers all costs for students, including housing and meals, ensuring a supportive and family-like atmosphere for both students and staff.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings; two years of legal marriage for couples; both spouses aged 27 or older; limit of three dependent children in the student home; adherence to campus policies on smoking, weapons, alcohol, and pets; valid driver’s license and ability to drive student home vans; comfort with leading students in daily devotions and chapel services; high school diploma or GED; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; demonstration of high integrity as role models for students; completion of individual employment applications by both spouses
