Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School, a renowned private school founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, provides a comprehensive career-focused education, including housing and meals, to students from pre-K through 12th grade from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school is fully endowed, ensuring both students and staff have all the resources needed to thrive. Married couples are sought to become flex houseparents, guiding and nurturing approximately 8-12 students in on-campus student homes, creating a family-like structure and handling various responsibilities such as driving, medication administration, and budgeting.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings; candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students; both spouses must be age 27 or older; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; valid driver’s license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans; couples must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and take students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services (Note: Proselytizing is prohibited); this is a two-person job for couples who have been legally married for at least two years; no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home; abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; limitations on pets – only fish and one dog of approved breeds permitted
