Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School, a prestigious private school founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, is seeking married couples to serve as Flex Houseparents. In this role, couples provide a nurturing environment for 8-12 students from disadvantaged backgrounds, offering support with driving, medication administration, and maintaining a family-like structure within student homes. Flex Houseparents play a crucial role in guiding and nurturing students in a career-focused educational setting.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings; this is a two-person job for legally married couples with at least two years of marriage, both spouses aged 27 or older; no more than three dependent children in the student home; abide by campus rules including no alcohol on duty, smoke-free and weapon-free environment; limitations on pets with only fish and one approved breed of dog allowed; valid driver’s license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans; comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Sunday chapel services; high school diploma or GED required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; high degree of integrity required as role models for students; both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
