Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School, a renowned private school, is seeking married couples to serve as flex houseparents in student homes, providing guidance and support to disadvantaged youth from pre-K to 12th grade. The school offers a comprehensive career-focused education with covered housing, meals, and more for students from underprivileged backgrounds, thanks to the philanthropy of Milton and Catherine Hershey. Flex houseparents at MHS play a vital role in creating a family-like atmosphere for students, handling tasks like driving, medication administration, and fostering a supportive environment for student development.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; experience working or volunteering with youth preferred; couples must be legally married for at least two years and both spouses aged 27 or older; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; valid driver’s license and willingness to become certified to drive student home vans; comfortable leading daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services with students; adherence to campus regulations including smoke-free, weapon-free, and alcohol-free policies; maximum of three dependent children allowed in the student home; pets limited to fish and one approved breed of dog; high integrity and role model behavior expected; both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
