Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School, a renowned private educational institution, is seeking dedicated Youth Development Specialists to serve as flex houseparent couples, providing essential guidance and support to students in shared living environments. This unique role promotes a structured yet nurturing educational experience for disadvantaged youth within a family-like atmosphere on campus.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings; this is a two-person job for couples who have been legally married for at least two years; both spouses should be age 27 or older; no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home; abide by campus regulations including a smoke-free and weapon-free environment, no alcohol while on duty; limitations on pets with only fish and one approved breed of dog permitted; possess a valid driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans; comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services; high school diploma or GED required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; demonstrate a high degree of integrity as role models for students; both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
