Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a renowned private educational institution offering career-focused education and support to students from pre-K through 12th grade, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school was founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, providing fully endowed resources for students and staff to thrive. MHS is currently seeking married couples to serve as flex houseparents, residing on-campus to nurture and guide groups of students in a family-like environment.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings; couples must be legally married for at least two years; both spouses should be age 27 or older; high school diploma or GED required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as role models for students; valid driver’s license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans; comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services (No proselytizing); no more than three dependent children in the student home; adhere to campus rules including smoke-free, weapon-free environment, and no alcohol while on duty; limitations on pets – only fish and one approved breed of dog allowed.
