Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a renowned private educational institution offering a career-focused education from pre-K to 12th grade for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, MHS provides comprehensive support including housing, meals, and full coverage of all costs to ensure student and staff success. MHS is currently seeking married couples to join as Flex Houseparents, residing in on-campus student homes to provide guidance and support to groups of approximately 8-12 students, fostering a family-like environment and managing various responsibilities such as driving, medication administration, and budgeting.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from underserved settings; couples must be legally married for at least two years; both spouses aged 27 or older; no more than three dependent children in the student home; adherence to campus regulations including smoke-free, weapon-free policy, and no alcohol on duty; limitations on pets with approval for fish and one dog of specified breeds; valid driver’s license and ability to drive student home vans; comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services (proselytizing prohibited); high school diploma or GED; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; demonstration of high integrity as role models for students; completion of individual employment applications by both spouses.
