Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School, a renowned private school founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, is seeking married couples to serve as Flex Houseparents on campus. This unique role involves nurturing and guiding a group of 8-12 students from disadvantaged backgrounds, providing them with a supportive environment and essential care. Flex Houseparents play a vital role in offering a family-like structure for students and overseeing various responsibilities, including driving, medication administration, and budgeting.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably in under-served settings; this is a two-person job requiring legally married couples with a minimum of two years of marriage; both spouses must be aged 27 or older; no more than three dependent children allowed in the student home; adhere to campus rules including a smoke-free and weapon-free environment, no alcohol while on duty, and limited pet policy; possess a valid driver’s license and ability to drive student home vans; comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Sunday chapel services; high school diploma or GED required; lift up to 50 lbs; demonstrate high integrity as staff serve as role models for students; both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
