Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School (MHS) is renowned for providing an exceptional career-focused education to students from pre-K through 12th grade from disadvantaged backgrounds. Founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, the school offers a fully endowed program covering all costs, including housing and meals. MHS is currently seeking married couples to join as flex houseparents, residing in on-campus student homes to provide guidance and support to groups of approximately 8-12 students, ensuring a family-like structure and handling various responsibilities like driving, budgeting, and more.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings; this is a two-person job for couples married for at least two years; both spouses aged 27 or older; no more than three dependent children in the student home; abide by campus rules including no smoking, weapons, or alcohol on duty; limitations on pets; valid driver’s license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans; comfortable leading daily devotions and attending Sunday chapel services; high school diploma or GED required; able to lift up to 50 lbs; demonstrate high integrity as a role model for students; both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
