Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School (MHS) provides an exceptional career-focused education with housing, meals, and full coverage for students in pre-K through 12th grade from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school, endowed by Milton and Catherine Hershey in 1909, hires married couples as flex houseparents to offer guidance and support to small groups of students within on-campus homes.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings; this is a two-person job for couples who have been legally married for at least two years; both spouses should be age 27 or older; no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home; abide by campus rules including no smoking, weapons, or alcohol on duty; limitations on pets to fish and one approved dog breed; valid driver’s license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans; comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Sunday chapel services; high school diploma or GED required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; demonstrate a high degree of integrity as role models for students; both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
