Position: Youth Development Specialist – Relocation to Hershey, PA Required
About: Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a renowned private school offering exceptional career-focused education to students from pre-K through 12th grade from disadvantaged backgrounds. Founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, the school is fully endowed, providing students and staff with all necessary resources for success. MHS is currently seeking married couples to serve as flex houseparents, residing in on-campus student homes to provide guidance and support to groups of students.
Requirements: Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably in under-served settings; couples must be legally married for at least two years; both spouses should be 27 years or older; no more than three dependent children in the student home; abide by campus rules including no smoking, weapons, or alcohol while on duty; limitations on pets with only fish and an approved breed of dog allowed; valid driver’s license; ability to drive student home vans; comfortable leading students in daily devotions; high school diploma or GED required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; demonstrate high integrity as role models for students; completion of individual employment applications by both spouses.
Benefits: Salary of $43,825 per person (total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple, including free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more); comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, retirement savings; relocation assistance and paid training; schedule of nine days on followed by three days off, with personal time during school hours; three-week paid summer vacation.
