Position: Wine Steward
About: The Wine Steward is responsible for the entire onboard wine program to include sales, inventory, and proper requisitioning procedures. This position will also assist the wait staff with selling wines during dinner service in the Main Dining Rooms and provides overall wine service. Works in a station designated by the Head Sommelier and approved by the Restaurant Manager, following the daily schedule posted weekly in the wine cellar. Responsible for restocking the wine cellar daily and may assist with loading wines onto the ship weekly. Should be knowledgeable about the wine list, suggest wines, and pair them with food. Responsible for achieving guest satisfaction targets in wine service and following all company wine service standards and sequences of service.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum legal age to serve alcohol; strong knowledge of wines and wine service; previous experience in wine sales preferred; ability to work under pressure and provide excellent customer service; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented and organized; knowledge of food and wine pairing; ability to meet guest satisfaction targets in wine service; follow company wine service standards and sequences of service
