Position: TI Junior Sous Chef
About: The New York Athletic Club, founded in 1868, is a platinum and emerald-rated private club with over 9,000 active members. The NYAC is dedicated to supporting athletes in Olympic competition and providing top-notch facilities at its Manhattan City House and Travers Island in Westchester County.
Requirements: Prepares food to specifications before and during operations; properly measures and portions all food items; complies with portion sizes, quality standards, and department rules; cooks all food to proper specifications in a timely manner; utilizes kitchen equipment effectively; ensures proper food temperatures and storage; maintains freshness and quality of menu items; packages products according to specifications; performs opening, closing, and side work duties; keeps workstation clean and organized; upholds health codes and sanitation regulations; controls waste and records spoilage; must have reliable transportation; able to work weekends and holidays. Must have strong a la carte expediting skills; ability to communicate effectively in English orally and in writing; capable of writing reports and correspondence; effective in presenting information to various audiences; flexible attitude for tasks and schedule adjustments; physical requirements include prolonged standing and walking, ability to lift trays of food up to 25 pounds.
