Position: Team Leader
About: The Therapy Team Leader at a healthcare facility assists the Director of Therapy Operations in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the therapy team or discipline. This role involves providing effective supervision, fostering interdepartmental relationships, and maintaining competence in evaluation, assessment, care planning, and treatment within the licensed discipline. The Team Leader delegates tasks, supervises therapist assistants and technicians, manages staffing, scheduling, and training, and ensures seamless communication with hospital departments to meet patient and staff needs. Patient care in the licensed discipline accounts for 80% – 90% of work hours.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; current State license as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist; BLS (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire; minimum of three years’ discipline-specific or leadership experience with at least 2 years in a clinical setting; active on Therapy Clinical Ladder or specialty professional certification preferred; proficient in using general office equipment and Microsoft Office software; ability to lift and move objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds including medical supplies and equipment; strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills; ability to work independently and make critical decisions; adherence to dress code and standards of conduct; availability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays; willingness to assist in disaster situations and promote cultural diversity in the workplace.
