Position: TAXPAYER CUSTOMER ASSOCIATE BILINGUAL SPANISH/ENGLISH (REVENUE) AFSCME 3696

About: Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Control, this position assists customers with various notifications received from Cook County Departments, answers phone calls involving a high level of customer service in a call center environment, gathers taxpayer information and documents, maintains office files/records, and provides operational support to the Revenue department. The role also involves assisting staff with daily account management functions, serving as a departmental liaison, responding to inquiries from Cook County agencies, taxpayers, and tax violators, answering general tax inquiries, researching customer account tax payment history, adjusting payment discrepancies, explaining taxpayer responsibilities and penalties, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certification is required; two (2) years of full-time work experience as a Customer Service Representative or Cashier in a retail or public agency environment is required; fluent bilingual English/Spanish written and verbal communication skills is required.
