Position: Support Specialist, Palm Motel (Friday-Monday 11pm-7:30am)
About: Palm Motel in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking a Support Specialist to be the first point of contact for client needs and requests, ensuring the well-being of clients and the shelter. The position involves monitoring the property, engaging with clients, conducting regular facility walkthroughs, and fostering a supportive environment for client progress and stability. Essential duties include maintaining client rooms, facilitating client engagement activities, and de-escalating crisis situations. The Support Specialist will also handle administrative tasks such as updating records and communicating effectively with stakeholders. This role plays a crucial part in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance addiction within the shelter environment.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum one (1) year experience in related work; effective customer service skills; ability to work independently and think critically; commitment to community improvement; familiarity with non-violent crisis intervention and issues faced by clients; computer literate; able to obtain and maintain Food Handlers, CPR, and first aid certification
