Position: Student Event Planner
About: New Settlement, a community-focused organization rooted in the Bronx, advocates for justice, promotes leadership, and enhances neighborhoods by empowering individuals and families to create positive societal change through education, employment, housing, wellness, and creative expression. The organization supports 15,000 community members annually through various programs and initiatives, including housing and school organizing, education, college access, youth development, arts, workforce development, and wellness services.
Requirements: B.A., B.S. Preferred; One to two years of experience within the Student Affairs area is required; Previous experience in community-based youth work, education, or social work with a commitment to youth development; Bilingual a plus but not a requirement; Ability to work Monday through Friday during school and after school hours with an unpaid hour for lunch; Ability to relate to persons of diverse backgrounds; Familiarity with NYC public schools; Commitment to providing affordable housing and equitable opportunities for low-to-moderate income population
